Run as One

On Sunday 3rd May, 80 Runners from One Spa and the Sheraton Edinburgh Hotel took to the streets of the Capital to complete the BUPA Great Edinburgh 10K Run and raise over £11,500 for Maggie's Cancer Centres.

Greatly exceeding their £10,000 fundraising target, every penny of the money raised by the team will go towards supporting those affected by cancer.

Sue Finlay, director of sales and marketing at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa comments:
"I thought it would be great to get a team together of associates, One Spa members, colleagues, friends, family (anyone willing and able to run or walk!), not only to get fit and have fun but primarily to raise money for charity. I was delighted we got 80 people to run in our team with their One Spa/Sheraton Grand t-shirts and we had a great day with celebrated afterwards in our Santini Restaurant where we hosted lunch for all the runners and their friends and family.

I am thrilled we exceeded our target of £10,000 and raised so much money for Maggie's who truly appreciate this generous donation. We chose Maggie's Centre in Edinburgh as I am sure that everyone can relate to someone who has been affected by cancer or they themselves have had cancer and Maggie's Cancer Care Centres offer a wonderful service to both those being treated for cancer and their families, friends and carers."

The Edinburgh 10km run is now in its fifth year and the course takes in major landmarks such as Edinburgh Castle, The Scott Monument, Royal Mile and Holyrood Place. The team at the Sheraton Edinburgh Hotel hope to be back next year to make even more money for their well-deserving charity.
